Sail on Sailor

Mark Ronson ft. Sean Lennon to a fine tune of Beach Boys origin. A nice mixture of band elements, more like an orchestra. Glad to see Sean's Vox coming through quite well; Goes to show that he indeed does have a good vocal delivery system...*

Feeling All Right

Joe Cocker*singing*the Dave Mason composition*...; I've always found this song to have a keen atmosphere, that I can't put a finger on.

Actually for me, It seems to be that wonderful soul-blues-jazz concoction of piano expertise by one Leon Russell. Plus the female singers & percussion sure do help out too. It's just a timeless work of audio-art. Godspeed Sirs...*

Can't You Hear Me Knocking

Stones***Rolling on & on. Ok...So I can't say that I was ever a fan of the band. However, I must say that there are some tunes, that I do indeed like. This is one of them & it's a live performance.

These fellows seem to defy all chronology & physiology, despite whatever life-styles they live. It's beyond my realm of conception.

Who am I to say...; Perhaps it's the charisma thing when it comes to Mick Jagger, no doubt. Godspeed Sirs...*

An Old Fashioned Love Song

Chuck Negron***& Three Dog Night...; I've been reading about Mr. Negron in his auto-biography. A very soul searching write.

The band is adroit & the vocals from the other gentleman, make for quite a roller coaster ride.

I'm drawn to Chuck, his honesty & visceral description of the experience of the time, is candid & poignant.

This cut is a classic ; The vocal work is especially magnetic. My subjective opinion means nothing. But What Do I Know anyway...*

Me & My Arrow

Harry Nilsson***An brilliant eclectic composer & singer, who danced to the beat of his own drummer. A diverse & adroit songwriter, blending a touch of melancholy & spirit ; Mr. Nilsson is an enigma of musical talent & impossible to label, lest one enjoys spending time in perplexity.

Godspeed Sir...*

Nat King Cole

L-O-V-E...is the thing. What a wonderful, smooth as silk voice. A gentleman of infinite ability.

I can't really listen to the song. It's one of those tunes again. So close to the heart..

Mr. King's vox delivery was like no other. Godspeed Sir...*

Rick James & Chaka Khan

Slow Dancing***Another version ; Which one cannot put out of the mind. Actually my mind. Having read the autobiography, has shown me much more than I had realized, to the point of influences of other musical artists & the effect of Funk & the foot-print of Mr. James.

I've read a good many auto-biographies & this one is mind bending. If you're in the industry or have a magnetic attraction to Rick James, for whatever reason...check the book.

So what else can I say, that has not been already said...; God Bless Rick James & the nod to Ms. Khan. Godspeed Sir...*

Rick James

"I've Had It All, I've Done It All, I've Seen It All...It's All About Love. ..God Is Love."

Don't Box Me In

Stewart Copeland & Stan Ridgway from the film Rumblefish***An eclectic slab of music.

Having seen both fellows live in the past, via bands Wall Of Voodoo & The Police ; This collaboration makes for a unique meld of shadows & shade. There's my two cents...which isn't worth a penny these days...*

There's A Place

The Beatles***Well...Here I am again, back to the drawing board. It seems at times that I walk in a circle.

There's a place I go to that's not really my mind. Perhaps it's just memories of times gone past; wondering where the good times have gone. I thought true-blue friendship lasts forever. I guess I was wrong...*

Willow Weep For Me

Chad & Jeremy***A unique sound of multiple elements. Smooth, melodic,melancholy...;

Shaping my mood from youth. A fine way it is to be the romantic. I thought it was altruistic. I guess I was wrong...*

What Is Life

And tell me...what is my life without your love? And tell me...who am I without you by my side?

George Harrison***

People Are Strange

Jim Morrison & The Doors***So true it is, that many times if you don't know someone, a negative energy is projected as a defense mechanism. I'm no head-shrink though. I do have a good one however...

Sometimes, people appear to be something or other on the surface ; Then as you talk to them, they well may be the opposite of your first impression. It's all a bit complicated, in a world where one seeks sublimity...*

Cake - Meanwhle, Rick James...

Cake***Well, I was thumbing around looking for a good pinch of music material & I came to Cake. Not to eat mind you, but a band. Well, I'll be honest with you ; The reason I saw it in the first place was the title. Rick James...whom I have a healthy addiction to these days.

Frankly I don't know anything about the band. But this tune really is fine & that's refreshing. I'll be off to do my homework now, about Cake. I love it but it's too many calories...*
