I Will

The Beatles***Paul has a way with a ballad & he shows repeatedly the form of a master ; With nothing more that a guitar or piano many times for accompaniment.

Mr. McCartney also has an adroit mind for melodic lines in a song & I can't really think of anyone much else who can fill his shoes in this department either.

In synopsis, adding his skills with an unpretentious vocal delivery ; Containing a great high tenor & completely natural delivery, makes for a tune smith of the ages...*

BlackBird

The Beatles***Coming in at 2:14, even I cannot exclude this beautiful work of audio-art & lyric from a genius. Paul can knock them off one after another.

I'm not real sure what metaphors are in play here ; Have to go research some on that. Yes...I must admit without Mr. McCartney & for the matter Mr. Harrison ; If the fellows would have made it on their own or with other players.

A tip of the hat to Richard Starky, he's about the best no flash drummer that ever existed in moder pop/rock music. It's not how much you play, it's the spots were you choose not to play or overextend the instrument, that makes for great drummers...*

I'm So Tired

The Beatles***A bit of lingo at the top & another John after another John. A Spanish sub-title comes with a passing of a joint out in the open. So what.

It's quite a nice ditty & down to earth. I can't remember how many times I've been in that situation. Plus you can hear the sincerity in his voice. God bless a sacred soul, who changed the history of the world...*

Happiness Is A Warm Gun

The Beatles***Coming in at about 2:43 has Mr. Lennon going on another journey to the inner levels of metaphor & satire.

Seems that at this point in the bands' development, everyone is going in other directions all over the place. Did I say that...?

John is just brilliant. What can one more say...*

While My Guitar Gently Weeps

The Beatles***From the White double album ; A fantastic song & a rising force within the group. George always had his own way of doing his arrangements & composing.

It was apparent way before this cut, so it's really not surprising at all. It is difficult however, to compete with the songwriting of Lennon/McCartney. I sometimes wonder why the three of them didn't sit down & write. Perhaps they did, but I'm not aware of that.

As a guitarist, singer & composer, George was starting to hit his zenith as the band itself started to go underwater, because of in band disputes & all of that good stuff when you start out trying to be democratic, but that never lasts too long.

George has a great wealth of material in his post Beatle career, that I'll be getting to a little ways down the road...; Sure do love those Rickenbacker 12 strings with the red sunburst finish...*

Bungalow Bill

The Beatles***A potpourri of instruments & eclectic story line, reflect Mr. Lennon's continuing penchant for coming up with art-out of this world & onto the next.

Coming in at 2:07, I can't stop to be amazed at how astute & visionary a band with a leader like this, can be. You know by now that I have an unfair weighing opinion of the Beatles ; In a nutshell, George had a lot more import musically & vocally than most average listeners are unaware of.

Theory # 2 is simple. John Lennon was & is The Beatles. Not any disrespect to the other fellows, who were all adroit & phenomenal. I'm not saying he didn't need them to pull it all off. But it's common knowledge who the leader of the band was & is.

Anyone who would like to dispute this with me...bring it on George... Take a careful look at all or most of the best cuts from the band & you may come to the conclusion that for the most part Mr. Lennon is the man. See who sings all or most of the biggest hits. Great haircuts too.

But What Do I Know Anyway...*

Glass Onion

The Beatles***What a mother of an album...er...Double Album is, as it's sometimes referred to as the White Album.

This track from the mind of Mr. Lennon is quite a cut. From a production standpoint, it shows the ever evolving lyrical & musical vision of a soul but made only once.

The music is like three different artists taking their turns at the Calliope box. The sound is warm & full ; Whilst also being something conceived from where, we might not ever know.

But one things for sure, there's a lot of fantastic stuff on this album & it is unlike any of their other works ; Or as is in this case, HD-mono remastered from 2009.

Dear Prudence

The Beatles***From the White Double Album. At points almost atonal, but for a mish-mash of fantastic music, with all members for the most part, doing their own sessions.

Not a bad idea actually, I mean, how far can one take it, before you just have to step back & distance some, into your own styling of the time.

Some things & events were, tempered by the passing onward of Brian Epstein ; A time up in India to put some alternate thoughts in to their own thing & really four guys who are entering new phases of their lives, as happens to all of us...*

Baby You're A Rich Man

The Beatles***Off the magical Mystery Tour album. Aside from the film & such, this album was a great piece of work. Loaded with hyper-good material, they seem to be a jaugernaut.

Actually, there were a few music videos connected to this work & they are also ground-breaking. Considering that there was no such a thing as music videos.

Is that a backwards guitar loop or a set of bagpipes. Another quick interesting bit I found ; At the time & before that they were also using a melotron.

No need to explain that to non-music proders & engineers ; But leave it to say, it was state of the art technoly at that time. But, alas, What Do I Know Any Way...*

Blue Jay Way

The Beatles***George Harrison has a musical vision that melds the worlds between music & Spirit. His acclimation to Indian music, is really going to the beat of his own drummer.

You want to see some great Indian music ; Have a look at the tribute to George, Listen to the fine whispers of another world ;

Not to mean drugs, but the opening out of our spiritual natures ; We are spirits having a material existence...or incarnation. George said that 40 yrs. goes like the clap of your hand.

Godspeed Mr. Harrison...*

Flying

The Beatles***What can be said about this...Is it a certain blind, that which, all do not feel it. A bit of a turn coming @ about 2:20 These images soon become absorbed through osmosis to bands like Pink Floyd... ;

How often we are privileged when preset, to hear music filler & high aerodynamics... "

It certainly does not hurt & it's so rare, I can't comment on it ; Guess it's just the state of mood & mind that alter the presentation...*

The Fool On The Hill

The Beatles***What can be said about a genius, that interfaces music, into a visual form...

This is one of those songs.

Paul's clip in the film was really enchanting. He did it on an off day in France. I wish that the rest of the production, was as good as that clip. I feel that the movie could really become fantastic & is some ways it is. This album was extremely good. It almost rivals Pepper.

There's too much to say about Magical Mystery Tour. On a surreal level it is almost brilliant actually ; I wonder if this was the next thing to throw at the world. Perhaps Pepper could have been a movie ; But then you have Yellow Submarine.

I'm not really sure if Brian Epstein was around for Pepper. Let alone This album. Godspeed Brian...*
