You Can't Kill Me

RGTC Lene Lovich*** What a song, what a concept. Lene perceives her art as no other. From theatre & performance art, welded right into the musical wave of timeless sound.

Lene is a very unique artist, communicating in many sublime & complex manifestations of art. Sonic & otherwise, there's just no one like her. But What Do I Know Anyway...*

The Shadows

Apache*** British instrumental band, with an interesting history. More popular in Europe than the U.S. ; Essentially quite a run on the business & into the future from the late 50's onwards.

This particular song is one of my favorites. So much for my two cents...*

Green Onions

Booker T & The M.G.'s***If it's a Hammond you're looking for, it all depends on the cat who curves the keys. Booker T is the man & the band of Cropper & Dunn, have it.

R&B...Rock, Jazz...who could say. Except to say that this type of key-magic lives on in timeless style that never goes out...of style. The new is old. The old is new. But What Do I Know Anyway...*

Take Me Now

Benjamin Orr & The Cars***Well...When pondering upon what a wealth of material the band has, I've become quite side-tracked ; As each song passes through the senses, There's no end to the sonic parade.

This particular tune I was unaware of, but after listening to the major-sevenths in the chorus ; I'm taken again as to the prowess of The Cars & their timeless ability to stay new & not age.

To inspire & move higher up the ladder of sound & expression. The atmosphere on some songs creates & haunts with a beauty all its'own...*

Silver

Ric Ocasek & Benjamin Orr***A song written by the former, about the latter. The nucleus of the Cars. Suffice it to say I'm fairly addictive at this time, to the musical treasures of this band that defy space & time... in the music of the spheres.

Very poignant lyrically & with an atmosphere to match. The depth into the musical diary of the human condition & some subjective supernatural 2 cents from yours truly.

Alas...But What Do I Know Anyway...*

The End Of Something

Rollins Band***Each song unto itself, something. It will take me a long time to study the parameters of The Rollins Band. Mr Rollins is above the plateau of the wolf pack & the alpha dogs.

I really admire & enjoy Mr. Rollins craft of book writings. Be it stand up or sit down. Listen to or read, it's beyond what simple words I could conjure up.

The band is adroit at what it does. It's not so much atonal, as it is a fusion of numerous styles. The art is a creation that stands alone.

360 degrees away from my usual musical haunts ; "The End Of Something" is perhaps the beginning of something new. But What Do I Know Anyway...*

Falco

Der Kommissar***It was quite a hit & there's more to the man than that. Obviously the charisma is part of the charm; Bordering on satire, with smooth edges.

My German is not too good, which means nothing as the music easily speaks out mounds of quirky audio-candy. Plus he's rapping & you have to be aware of what the release date was.

A shooting star out for an evening flight. Godspeed...*

Benjamin Orr

Do You Know What It Feels Like Without You***Recorded as a follow-up to his first solo album "The Lace"; This is quite a heart fluttering song & I've only just heard it twice. No doubt, I have an intuitive feeling that the rest of the album, will be of top flight caliber, no less.

It's rather easy for me to become fixated onto a man that has a true gift of artistic talent. Ben's multi-instrumentalist abilities coordinate nicely with his compositional originality. A reflection of his post "Cars" work, one could only guess.

But I am convinced that he is performing music of the spheres; For beauty & the ultimate power of love has been placed inside the children of time & space.

I see you up upon the stars at night. it's a wonder to know that your music is with us always. As upon all souls who travel the journey to the light. Godspeed Sir...*

When You Walk In The Room

Jackie DeShannon***Around 1964 or so, this tune got stuck in my ear-drum & continuously played in a loop for many months; Before I had to go to the urgent care facility by me, to have my ear unplugged.

I think it was the 12-string acoustic guitar bit that did me in, because I was never really into Jackie...*

Jimi Hendrix - Sweet Angel (Angel)

Have You Ever Been Experienced...I don't mean just stoned...I mean like beautiful & everything...*

"Angel came down from heaven yesterday;She stayed with me just long enough to rescue me;

And she told me a story yesterday;About the sweet love between the moon and the deep blue; sea;And then she spread her wings high over me;She said she's gonna come back tomorrow"

"And I said "Fly on, my sweet angel;Fly on through the sky;Fly on, my sweet angel;Tomorrow I'm gonna be by your side."

He wrote many a beautiful song, but the technology of the times was nowhere even close to catching up to him. Godspeed Sir...*

Mother Mary

Julian Lennon***A diverse collection of eclectic nuance, purveys each song-painting. The more I attempt to comprehend each number in of itself, the more of an enigma I wind myself into.

The beat of a heart & the magic of the audio-sonic brush; Pilots onwards to a destination of the artists' vision. I am unable to understand Mr. Lennon's music, though I feel its' magnetic effect.

As the window cycles slower, into the beauty doth the vast horizon born; Of Mr. Lennon's making...flows on & onwards, the meridian of the night time stars in the sky...*

Headlights

Sean Lennon***The more I listen, the more that's discovered. I'll have to re-boot my software & take a fresh breath of renewal; For once what was lost, has alas now been found...*

Third Stone From The Sun

Stevie Ray Vaughn***From Mr. Hendrixs' vault; From a man that knows the experience. I guess it's time I dusted off my ears & took in some music, that has its' own space in time. Godspeed Sir...*
