Emotion In Motion

Ric Ocasek***Solo ; Many times like hearing The Cars, or is it the other way around...?

Surely has an enchanted atmosphere that is expressive & charming. Looks like I have to go back & do more research on the man...*

Tired Of Being Alone

Al Green***Al is one of the most naturally gifted artists that music has ever known. In his own sweet real loving way, I might say, & a pleasure to his many fans.

We know the Mr. Green is a spiritual man & that makes him all the more enticing & enchanting. He has one of the best falsetto's I've ever heard. Period.

Yea, it's great to be a "player", but sooner or later there comes a time in a man's life to at least try to settle down. I tried a few times myself. It was a disaster.

But, If you are lucky enough or call it fate or destiny, you may just find the certain someone that you've been waiting for all of your life. Cause, If you ain't got love, you ain't got nothin...*

You Make Me Crazy

Utopia*** This is one of the best songs of this band configuration. I'm in love with this song. It stands the test of time. There isn't a whole lot of bands these days that even play instruments let alone sing.

I saw the live show several times & they were about flawless. Mr Wilcox is a standout. A great drummer & a great vocalist. So I'm glad that he's singing this one.

I have read some information that they may re-unite. I hope that they do. Because they're in my two cent perception, a great four piece unit.

You know...The Cars are The Cars. I'll leave it there. Utopia is Utopia. Besides, I've felt this way so many times waiting on a call or a date or what have you ; It's uncanny. It makes me crazy...*

I Talk To The Wind

King Crimson***Greg Lake vocals , from the first album.

I had a friend in high school who had a tough time of things because in his senior year, his parents were splintered & he was by himself cooped up in an apartment besides other inner troubles. He was An extremely artful & talented guy.

Much of my early drug experimentation came upon his promptings, as at the time it was nothing like today. So I had some drink & the rest through the next several years until about the time we were 25 yrs. old or so. We were best of friends for quite some time.

He turned me on to king Crimson & some of the other progressive bands. For the first time in my life that first night; After having drank some Colt 45 Beer, I for the first time in my life did not feel so alone & lonely.

I haven't seen him since those days past , but I always remember. I'm still alone & lonely, even in company of intimacy or friendship & otherwise. I guess the drink didn't change anything really. I was drunk only once. For 30 years. So I hope someone may learn a tiny bit from my solitude & ways to combat depression.

Have a listen to this song. I hope that you like it. You might even find that it affects your inner mood. But please don't get sad. We all talk to the wind from time to time

Cast Your Fate To The Wind

David Benoit*** What a fine wonderful timeless song this is.I feel like this a lot of the time if I'm fortunate enough to be in a decent mood, which has become increasingly difficult as life waits for no man.

Thank God for beauty & the way that music sometimes is a wondrous supernatural purveyor of said ; For a brief moment, music distracts us from all of the suffering in this world...*

This Guy's In Love With You

Burt Bacharach & Hal David***When you have a composer like Burt Bacharach, a lyricist like Hal David ; Other than Lennon & McCartney, who can stand shoulders to shoulders.

Mr. Alpert's vocal is surprisingly well done for this particular song. Besides being so talented, He's a very handsome man & I am a straight guy.

I find it rather difficult at times to listen to songs like these, because basically I burn down like a melted candle. This song is a beautiful work of timeless & sincere beauty.

If you love or have ever loved somebody, the way Mr. Alpert is singing it, you know what it's like. I can tell you for sure, other than the false eyelashes which were a trend of that time, Mr. Alperts performance is sublime in its' sincerity & the pure beauty of real, true, love...*

Love Bites

Def Leppard*** Perhaps one of the best melodic hard rock bands period. Love Bites...Ouch...*

Hard Rock & even some Metal are fine with me. But most of the time, unless it's Henry Rollins or somebody, I've got to have melody. If it a good rhythmic feel, all the more.

But it just has to have melodic VS atonal chord progressions. As per vocals, I'll address that on some other posts. But What Do I Know Anyway...*

Heaven Knows

Robert Plant***I sure do like Mr. Plants solo work so much more than his time with L.Z. ; Alright, "Houses of the Holy" was quite an album.John Bonam, Godspeed...was about as best as a white power drummer is gonna get. Haven't heard his son play, I'm sure he's really good.

This song & a few others of his solo period I think, leave everything else in the dust. But What Do I Know Anyway...*

Windows Of The World

Crissie Hynde & The Pretenders***This was from a movie called "Mystic Pizza" I think. The only thing I can remember of it was the closing song. Actually it was another gem from Burt Bacharach,

Her vocals hook me in & as always, I consider her to have some of the finest set of pipes that has ever graced modern music....*

I've heard a version by Tori Amos, more stark & yet in her way almost even more compelling. I'll post it up in the next few days or so.

I guess the song delves with something to do with men going off to war & that type of thing. Either way, enjoy Ms. Hyndes' gorgeous voice...*

Every Kind Of People

Robert Palmer***"You know that love's the only goal. That could bring a peace to any soul. Hey & every man's the same. He wants the sunshine in his name..." ; Our souls are Immortal. We love you Robert. I miss you. We shall meet again.

Godspeed Mr. Palmer...*

Blurry

Wes Scantlin...From the band Puddle Of Mudd...* Upon listening & viewing Mr. Scantlin's work, I find his music to be very empathic & visceral.

"There's Oceans In Between Us, But That's Not Very Far"

Miles Away

John Foxx***At the time, it was a combination of the synthesizers & the vocal melody line.

I heard it the first time & knew, it was one of those enigmatic delights of audio : The video was cool too. Back in the day, around the late 70's-early 80's : It was indeed a new wave...*

I Touch Myself

The Divinyls***This song really touches me...in an emotional-romantic way, I'm touched. Perhaps Ms. Amphlett, had a more carnal meaning. Either way, I Touch Myself is a masterstroke...*
